When it comes to ThunderTip, its standout feature is its non-custodial approach. The bot never holds your funds. Every tipped satoshi moves directly from one wallet to another through a secure, lightweight connection called Nostr Wallet Connect. This ensures you always retain full control of your money, bypassing the risks tied to custodial services. For example: with custodial bots you can't access your funds, when the bot is off. With ThunderTip the situation is exactly the opposite.
This bot acts as an intuitive layer on top of Lightning wallets, streamlining tipping within Telegram chats. By using Nostr Wallet Connect, transactions are not only secure but also quick and private.
A key advantage is its support for non-custodial wallets, letting users manage funds their way. For instance, wallets like Alby Hub offer simplicity alongside strong security and transparency, making them a perfect match.

Maximize your security
Nostr Wallet Connect offers numerous benefits, but it's important to keep in mind that you are granting a third-party application access to your funds. To enhance security, NWC allows you to define specific limits, such as the maximum connection duration and the maximum spendable amount (a.k.a budget). For added protection, ThunderTip securely stores your connection URI using AES-256 encryption, ensuring that your data remains safe.
How to connect?
Just start a conversation with the bot. Type "/connection" and send the message. ThunderTip will respond with a connection menu. Choose your option and send him Your NWC connection URI. Remember to set send permissions!
